Willow Tree figurines evoke emotion through gestures only, letting their meaningful poses and details tell a unique story to everyone who sees them. Each original sculpture carved by artist Susan Lordi represents qualities and sentiments that help us feel close to others, heal wounds, and treasure the relationships with friends and family.
Willow Tree angels, figurines, and more are all designed by artist Susan Lordi, and each hand-carved original is meant to evoke a wide range of emotions through subtle poses. The simplicity in each design lends every piece a deeply meaningful quality that can be interpreted in any number of ways depending on the individual giver and receiver. In this way, Willow Tree figurines are blank canvases on which an emotional tapestry may be painted in an instant, helping loved ones cope with loss and be reminded of the love in their lives.
Willow Tree also produces figurines and accessories for holiday Nativity scenes, so Susan Lordi’s unique take on the human form can beautifully decorate Christmas décor arrangements. Ornaments and angels are also popular choices for the holidays, as well as year-round!
Willow Tree FAQ
Q. Who designs Willow Tree products?
A. Willow Tree angels, figurines, Willow Tree Nativity pieces, and more are all designed by artist Susan Lordi. Since 1999, when Willow Tree was founded, each and every original piece has been sculpted and carved by Lordi in her own Kansas City art studio.
Q. What makes Willow Tree products special?
A. Susan Lordi’s unique, artistic method combined with her keen eye for the subtle, emotional touches of the human form makes each piece truly one-of-a-kind. Every angel or figurine manages to capture a wide spectrum of emotions through subtle gestures alone, so that a piece may recall a particular memory or feeling in one person, and something entirely different in someone else. Each Willow Tree piece is open to interpretation in this way, which is what makes them ideal gifts for loved ones - truly thoughtful keepsakes that will be treasured for a lifetime.
Q. What types of Willow Tree products are available?
A. Willow Tree offers lines of angels, figurines, ornaments, and more. Whether you’re shopping for a loved one for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, or some other holiday, or even a birthday or an anniversary, there is a Willow Tree product for any occasion. Willow Tree Nativity figurines and accessories are also popular during the holidays! Willow Tree sculptures are meant to heal, comfort, protect, and inspire, which makes them special gifts for those dealing with loss or going through other difficult times, as well.
Q. What are Willow Tree figurines made of?
A. Willow Tree products are cast in resin, which captures every detail of the original, clay model down to the smallest mark. Resin is a durable and affordable material, making it a top choice for household display. These figurines are then hand-painted according to the designer, Susan Lordi’s, instructions.
Q. How do I care for Willow Tree products?
A. Willow Tree products receive several, light layers of water-based paint. Due to this painting process, water MAY NOT be used in any way to clean a Willow Tree product. It is best to simply wipe dust off with a dry brush or soft cloth. Willow Tree products are also not meant to be displayed outdoors, as the moisture and harsh elements can also ruin their paint. To reattach broken pieces of figurines, try a two-part epoxy.
